Women represent less than 15% of startup founders, 22% of angel investors and 11% of investing partners at venture firms. Yet, Kaufmann Foundation research found that women-led high tech start-ups “achieve 35% higher return on investment, and – when venture-backed — generate 12% higher revenue than male-owned tech companies.” Some attribute the gender gap in entrepreneurship to a lack of confidence, and others to social norms.
We would like to introduce Women Who Launch, a new group aiming to spark an inclusive conversation about gender equality in entrepreneurship and transform these ideas into action for aspiring female founders, funders and team members.
